A sugarcane farmers’ meeting was held to achieve the sugarcane planting target in the 2025-26 planting and threshing season and ensure the supply of clean and quality sugarcane. The meeting was organized at Loknathpur Secondary School, Unit No. 23, Millsgate (West) Subzone, on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 5:30 PM.

Managing Director of Carew& Company (Bangladesh) Limited, Md. Rabbik Hasan FCMA, was present as the chief guest in the meeting. The special guests were the mill’s General Manager (Agriculture) Mohammad Ashraful Alam Bhuiyan and DGM (Extension) Md. Mahbubur Rahman.

The meeting was presided over by prominent sugarcane farmer Md. Jamal Hossain. Among others, Subzone Head Md. Mojtahidul Islam, CDA ASM Kabir, CDA Golam Mostafa Babu, CDA Enamul Haque and CDA Mohsin Ali. In addition, about 55 sugarcane farmers participated in the meeting.

The speakers at the meeting said that it is possible to increase production through timely sugarcane planting and proper care. Along with this, both farmers and institutions will benefit by supplying quality sugarcane. The speakers expressed hope that the target of sugarcane cultivation will be met this season and production will increase, God willing.
