A sugarcane cultivation meeting was held at Mominpur center of Chuadanga subzone on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the initiative of Carew& Company (Bangladesh) Limited, with the aim of motivating farmers in sugarcane cultivation and supplying quality, clean sugarcane during the 2025-26 sugarcane planting and threshing season.

The meeting was presided over by Acting Chairman of Mominpur Union Parishad Md. Asadul Haque. Managing Director of Carew & Company (Bangladesh) Limited Md. Rabbik Hasan, FCMA was present as the chief guest at the event.

The company’s General Manager (Agriculture) Mohammad Ashraful Alam Bhuiyan and DGM (Community) Md. Mahbubur Rahman were present as special guests. The program was moderated by Subzone Officer of Chuadanga Subzone Md. Nabirul Islam.

Managing Director Md. Rabbik Hasan told the farmers present at the meeting, “It is possible to earn more profit from the same land by cultivating companion crops along with sugarcane. Farmers should keep in regular contact with the mill officials for technical assistance.”

He also said, “Early planting increases the yield and there is also an opportunity to get government subsidies. Therefore, farmers should come forward for early planting.”

The meeting was concluded in a lively and orderly atmosphere with the spontaneous participation of the farmers. The speakers expressed the hope that the farmers participating in the meeting will play an important role in increasing sugarcane planting and supplying quality sugarcane.
